5:10 pm - miniatures
I have found a new interest and have been playing in quarter scale. For those of you who may not of tried this it is truly absorbing. My aim is to make Diagon Alley ( yes from Harry Potter) in quarter scale and as each building will sit on your hand it will not take up too much room. I hope. I have started with research, my reason for rereading Harry again but I become to involved with the plot and forget to write down the details I am looking for. So I have decided to make Ollivanders first. The information I have is Makers of fine wands since 382BC Narrow and shabby , a single wand lay on a purple cushion in the dusty window, A tinkling bell from somewhere in the depths of the shop, Hagrid sat on the spindly chair, a tiny place except the chair and thousands of narrow boxes piled right to the ceiling and Mr Ollivander used a tape measure, the box was wrapped in brown paper Does this mean there was no shop counter? Where did he put the money and where did he wrap the wand? Did he have a workroom above the shop? Would you help me in designing this? your help would be appreciated.

Thought I would show some of the pieces I have been making. I am sorry this one is sold but other pieces from the Alice in Wonderland series are available.

This is a big thing for a computer handicapped like me. It would not of happened except for a lot of help from my daughter and lots of messanging.

10:49 am - New beginnings
I have not posted for a long time due to a missing muse and a few health problems. The health problems seem to be on hold at present because of the correct medication and a great doctor. The muse is another story. Was about to take out a "lost and found" ad or in desperation a "wanted" ad when I wrote a comment to goddesscarrey. The three bears and Goldilocks were the result. Finally I found my missing muse. It have been hiding and needed something to reignite it. Thank you again.
What do you do when the imagination goes out the window? The reverse question is what do you do when the imagination is working overtime and the ideas are flowing thick and fast. How do you capture those fleeting inspirations? I have tried to put them in a journal but sometimes the ideas are too quick and illusive to be captured this way.
Other changes that are happening are with a lot of help from family I am updating my web page, (not before time) and will be opening an Etsy shop. Stand by for more details soon.I am also selling at the local market so if you are ever in Maleny, Queensland on a Sunday pop in and say Hi. I would love to meet with you

8:03 am - A Mother's point of view
So Melwil arrives early, she is way too excited to sit still so we arrive at the shop early. A sea of white and ivory dresses swells around us. Just have a look at what you want offers a confused shop assistant. Secretly thinking why is she here so early. Melwil pulls this black book from her bag (it probably was the basis of the last HP book theme) and says I really have this dream dress in mind. Yes the sales ladies eyes did light up -( No bogans today). They ohh and ahh over the pictures and comments in the book, and went and got the dress Size16 but with the hoopskirt on and the back held securely by the sales woman (no pins here) the transformation had begun. Yes she looked pretty (I knew she would these colours she had worn since her first dress as a baby) then they added the veil. Now she seemes to stand taller(a hitch of the dress helped)and that bride peeked out. Excitement was written all over her face Fairy tales can come true. What about a necklace and you thought only Maccs upsold.A pretty one was found and draped around the neck. They left her there in the dress while they went and found a dress that would give the right fitting, a real nightmare of frills  and flounces that looked okay but just wasn't her. Yes the right fit. Now back to street clothes paper work completed and details written in that black book we floated out of the shop. A truly happy day to remember. I hope all the rest of the organisation goes as easy.
For those that are interested my Mother did not make my dress it was made by my aunt, a professional dressmaker who worked in the bridal department of Myers in Melbourne and later went on to design those first crochet and knitted bikinis of the 70's on the Gold Coast. My mother made and hand painted the three brides maid's dresses as well as the two flower girl's dresses finishing them on the day of the wedding. No I have no desire to follow suite but if given enough cheek you never know. A really frilly thing in chiffon with a big bow on the back. What do you think Melwil? LOL

8:22 pm - Trying again
I am back from a great show in Cambeltown, Sydney. Yes, I did get the orders done and amazingly, yes they were picked up.The show was extremly well run with lucky door prizes every half hour and free ballon art for the kids as well as a teddy repair centre manned by doctors and nurses from the local childrens hospital. The hospital was the recipiant for all the funds raised. The following day was 'play' time. A group of creative women, a pile of different fibres and time to gosip and no deadlines and lots of laughter. I made a caterpillar that turned into a snail then a turtle. It definitely has Alice in Wonderland qualities but lots of fun. I also managed to learn two techniques I hope I can incorporate into my dolls. Came home fired up and ready to make some new designs. Hopefully Mel will be able to help me put some photos up to share.
